Microscope
Labmate offers a wide range of polarizing microscopes that use transmitted cross-polarized light to observe samples in opto-mechanical engineering with near-zero optical impurity. The sub-stage polarized extinction disc and cross-polarization allow for the observation of thin sections by centralizing and controlling the bi-refrigerant specimen with high accuracy. The microscopes are equipped with stain-free objectives with a focusing range of 4X, 10X, 40X, and 60X, as well as a 360° rotatable polarizer and an N.A. 1.25 swing-out condenser. To illuminate the sample, a 20W halogen light source with adjustable intensity and an N.A. 1.25 Abbe condens are used, which are mounted on a 160mm revolving round stage.

Frequently Asked Questions
1 What is a Polarizing Microscope?
A Polarizing Microscope is an apparatus designed to use polarized light to observe and analyze specimens.
2 How does Polarizing Microscope work?
It works by passing polarized light through a specimen and analyzing the light interactions using an analyzer, helping to reveal properties like birefringence and optical orientation.
3 What type of specimens can be observed using Polarizing Microscope?
It is used to observe anisotropic materials such as crystals, minerals, polymers, and certain biological samples.
4 How is Polarizing Microscope used in forensic science?
It is used in forensic science to identify fibers, hair, glass fragments, and other trace evidence by analyzing their birefringent properties and refractive indices.
5 What is the role of Polarizing Microscope in material science?
In material science, it is used to study stress patterns, crystal orientation, and phase identification in metals, polymers, and composites.
6 How does Polarizing Microscope help in studying minerals?
It helps in studying minerals by allowing geologists to determine optical properties such as pleochroism, extinction angles, and interference colors, aiding in accurate mineral identification.
7 Can Polarizing Microscope be used in quality control of pharmaceuticals?
It is used in pharmaceutical quality control to examine crystallinity, polymorphism, and purity of drug substances by observing optical characteristics.
8 What role does Polarizing Microscope play in ceramics and glass analysis?
It plays a key role in ceramics and glass analysis by revealing microstructures, stress birefringence, and phase separation in transparent and semi-transparent materials.
9 How is Polarizing Microscope used in analyzing biological tissues?
It is used in analyzing biological tissues to detect birefringent structures such as collagen, muscle fibers, and starch granules, aiding in both research and diagnostics.
10 What role does Polarizing Microscope play in the paper and pulp industry?
In the paper and pulp industry, it is used to examine fiber orientation, filler dispersion, and birefringent contaminants, improving quality control.
