Microplate Readers measure optical density across 96 and 48 well plates, converting colour change in ELISA and colorimetric assays into quantitative absorbance values. An 8-channel optical fiber system reads a full 96 well plate in about 5 seconds, while filters at 405, 450, 492 and 630 nm cover common substrates such as TMB, pNPP and OPD. A 0.000 to 4.000 OD reading range with 0.001 resolution supports accurate standard curves. Dual-wavelength measurement subtracts plate scratches, fingerprints and background artefacts from each reading. Typical uses include infectious disease serology, hormone and tumor marker assays, drug screening and academic research.
