Box Furnaces heat samples inside an insulated rectangular chamber to temperatures far above any lab oven. Uniform, controlled heat makes them a standard tool for heat treatment, firing and ashing. Maximum temperatures reach 1200 or 1700 degrees C. Continuous operation runs up to 1100 or 1600 degrees C. The 250 x 300 x 250 mm chamber takes crucibles, trays and small parts. Programmable controllers ramp, hold and cool in set steps, so each batch follows the same profile. As a high temperature muffle furnace, a box furnace handles ashing and loss on ignition tests. Other uses include metal annealing, ceramic and glass firing and calcination in metallurgy and electronics labs.
