Anaerobic Incubators culture organisms that cannot survive oxygen by replacing the chamber atmosphere with an oxygen-free gas mix and holding cultures at a controlled temperature. Chambers of 362 to 485 L reach oxygen below 1000 ppm on standard models and below 5 ppm on high-performance units, with an airlock that cycles in under 10 minutes so plates pass in and out without breaking the anaerobic state. Temperature runs from room temperature plus 3 to 60 degrees C with stability within 0.3 degrees C, and selected models add CO2 control from 0 to 20%. Typical uses include clinical anaerobe culture, Clostridium testing in food, gut microbiome research and antibiotic development.
