Differential Scanning Calorimeter

Differential scanning calorimetry (DSC) analysis is a powerful technique for probing essential physical characteristics of materials by subjecting them to controlled temperature changes. During a DSC experiment, both a test sample and a reference material undergo controlled heating, leading to a precisely measured response in temperature and heat capacity. These specialized furnace-based systems are particularly well-suited for investigating unique phase-transition properties, such as those seen in liquid crystals, quantifying the enthalpy of materials, and evaluating the resilience of products exposed to extreme temperatures and pressures. Differential scanning calorimeters offer a broad temperature range, spanning from a frigid -150°C to a scorching 800°C, with the capacity for rapid heating rates, including a maximum rate of 300 ml/min for DSC analysis.
